This week's bonus  Out Now with Aaron and Abe  is a special look at a lot of great memories. Aaron and Abe are joined by filmmaker Mike Eisenberg to go over the Netflix action flick Extraction , starring Chris Hemsworth . The trio goes over gritty action-thriller produced by the Russo Brothers and directed by acclaimed stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave . Weekly Recap: To The Stars, Academy Awards, Les Miserables & More!

A new recap is here, as I have some new reviews and more this week. Despite the misguided thoughts of some, theaters are still closed, although movies are out there. I've assembled this week's recap based around some new and upcoming films I've seen via Netflix and some screeners of upcoming OnDemand titles, along with listing out the recent releases made available to stream, rent, or own digitally. So this recap includes reviews for the To The Stars (good), Les Miserables (intense), Swallow (peculiar), and Sergio (bad), among others, plus a retro review. In addition to this, there are new podcasts, including our first look back on a previous Oscar ceremony. Finally, there are my various essays lists, and some new trailers to dig into as well. Aaron and Abe are joined by Le Noir Auteur’s Terence Johnson to break down the 83 rd Academy Awards , which celebrated the films of 2010, a year before this podcast started. In this episode, the group goes over the winners, who they would have picked, how these wins have aged, and what other possible nominations could have occurred in each of the acting categories, as well as Best Picture and Best Director. The trio goes over Lady Ly’s urban drama, chosen by France as their official submission for the 92 nd Academy Awards (The gang does get into some spoiler talk as well). Additionally, the second half of this episode is focused on the state of movie theaters, where the joy for them comes from, what’s been worth praising about them, how the current pandemic has affected things, and what the future could hold. Aaron is joined by Brandon Peters, Scott Mendelson, and Yancy Berns to discuss The World Is Not Enough , Pierce Brosnan’s third James Bond film, and one of the more underrated entries . Out Now Bonus: The Platform

This week's  Out Now with Aaron and Abe  is hopefully headed to a higher level, obviously. Aaron and Abe are joined by Professor Mike Dillon to discuss The Platform , a Spanish sci-fi thriller currently available to watch on Netflix . The group goes over the high concept film from director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia , and how it goes about tackling both the cinematic element of its premise, as well as the social commentary and more cerebral aspects. And please keep in that spoilers for the film are a major component in this week’s main review, so if you plan to watch the film and want to be surprised, be sure to do so before listening to the episode.
