Weekly Recap: Searching, Deadpool 2 On Blu & More!

In the last couple of weeks in August, the wide releases don't ten to be filled with quality entertainment. That's why you get an R-rated puppet movie (The Happytime Murders), a barely-marketed remake of Papillon, and a movie about a robodog (AXL). That said, I did see Searching, which is quite good and will spread wide next weekend. Look out for it. Blu-ray is a different story as a packed Deadpool 2 release it out there, along with the great First Reformed. I also have some more new write-ups for Preacher and Gotham. Lastly, enjoy our great podcast discussion of BlacKkKlansman. Enjoy and thanks for reading!

In Theaters Now:

(Solid thriller with a great use of its visual conceit)

(A fun rom-com with added cultural touches)
